Jamiel has been the frontman for a few bands since 2003, linking all the way back to school with the notrious Ground Zero and the energetic 7 Till Dawn. But even before performing with these bands, he has been the main songwriter and performer for shows that he had performed for Singapore Music Festival 2006 and also had managed to open for one of Indonesian's greatest band, GIGI, during one of his shows in Jakarta.
His songwriting influences are diverse to the likes of Daughtry, Maroon 5, Lifehouse, Aerosmith, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Incubus, Padi, Dewa, 3 Doors Down and also Stevie Wonder.
Since then, Jamiel had performed for full-house crowds at Timbre, Acid Bar, WalaWala, Novus and The Esplanade with his own style and flavor of cover songs such as U2, Coldplay, Matchbox 20, Jason Mraz and Oasis just to name a few. Opportunities to perform numerous overseas gigs in Melbourne, Thailand and Langkawi for private events and even music festivals also came their way.
Most importantly, he does not limit his shows to only solo acoustic acts but had done countless shows with a duo, 3-piece and even a full-sized band. The most recent achievement for Jamiel was when he was invited to play for Power 98FM Acoustic Lounge Session and Mediacorp’s Channel 5’s Live and Loaded Encore Program.
"Music is the universal language of the heart and soul. When I sing, if someone stops, listens and keeps a portion of my voice in their life, I'm truly grateful." Jamiel Said.
